14 PEACE WALK asks UN to take steps toward a NUCLEAR FREE FUTURE

New York City- On Sunday, May 1st, 2005, an international group of about 100 people will complete a 7 week, 780 mile pilgrimage from the Y-12 Nuclear Weapons Plant in Oak Ridge, TN, to the United Nations in New York City. Accompanied by the Mayor of Hiroshima, Tadatoshi Akiba, and 13 Hiroshima bomb survivors, the “Stop the Bombs International Peace Walk” will depart from Fort Lee, New Jersey around 6:30 am, cross the George Washington bridge and travel along Broadway to meet with the 'United for Peace and Justice' and 'Abolition Now' groups at 11:30am.
